First of all, thank you Fiona MacNeil for selecting me as Page of the Day! Second, Fiona has asked me to share a little about me and how my page got started... so, here goes... Im a high school principal with a passion for making the world a better place. The students I serve at my school are a high-risk population... they have either been expelled from their school districts, placed there from their probation officer, or from a group placement home. In November of 2013, I attended the International Bullying Prevention Conference in Nashville. They stressed what I already knew was crucial... that we cant just teach anti-bullying... we must teach pro-kindness. On November 16, 2013, I started a facebook page called Hoods Kindness Revolution Experiment and encouraged my students (and everyone I knew) to like the page and share the posts because by doing so, we would make kindness contagious. We would be infusing news feeds around the globe with positivity and hope. Here we are, four months later, and we have over 4600 followers from 45 different countries. Whoooohooo! :) I am also a certified Life Coach and Professional Development Presenter/Facilitator and so last month, I started a new page called Joelle Hood- Catalyst Coaching & Consulting... I do individual sessions, group workshops, trainings for educators, and positive youth development workshops for teens. I think that about sums it up... oh, and five years ago, I had kidney cancer... my hospital contacted me a couple of months ago to do a commercial for them and I was happy to.
