First, thank God for friends and for those who are willing to volunteer for our community. I am fine, along with my home and property, thanks to the people who, this morning, came when needed. Jennifer and Charles Moore, I can’t thank you enough for being good citizens and calling the fire department because of a fire that had started on the side of the road just down from my home. Our volunteer fire department responded immediately, but by the time they arrived, it had already spread past my fence line and into the edge of my woods. They worked diligently and quickly, containing the flames, and then stayed, watching for any flares, until they were sure the fire was out. Thank you to Richie Roberts, Doug Roberts, Clayton Tyler and Gina Tyler with our fire department, and to Russell Weeden with EMA. And, because of the fire spreading to the wooded area, thank you to Scott Hallman and Ethan Barrett of the Forestry service who responded, just in case. I am more grateful than I can express.
