First, thanks to everyone who contributed info regarding my inquiry regarding Georgie Girl. My kids were the ones who inter-acted with GG as did so many others. I only watched. She would follow our boats wake as we headed out. The kids were usually at the Loxahatchee River road bridge, where a couple manatee hung out, as well. More than once, someone landed on a manatee. And letters to the editor complained about the dolphin chasing the mullet away. I think thats when the Miami Aquarium supposedly removed her and Perry Como intervened -- and was going to cancel an event if she wasnt returned. Not saying this is gospel, but what I recall. Dont recall ever mentioning a male dolphin. Kind of like the game of telephone -- things get twisted as they are passed along. Whatever the story, its something those involved will always remember and cherish.
