Folks, we have had some absolutely terrible news here recently, that I am quite honest we will struggle with for some time. We do have a pretty pressing event approaching fast that we all need to come together to make a success. Our 28th Annual Hank Perry in Memory of Gary Matthews and little buddy Gracie Snider is just over two weeks away. This is a very special event, more-so than any year past as long as I can remember. This event is sure to attract a significant amount of racers from around the Inland Northwest and Canada. The community is counting on our hosting a spectacular event. We have much to do that I need help with both before and during the event. Saturday May 10th in the evening, we need to pull the pipes from the surface, pull the nails from the pipes and set aside. The pipe pulled can be neatly set outside the Northern most fence for a trip to the dump. We will be bringing in brand new pipe for this event. Lloyd Spooner, I am going to try to line up the purchase of new pipe this weekend and pick up by 5/16. Following the pipes being pulled the evening of May 10th, I would like to blow the track off completely. There has been a considerable amount of rock lifted and I would like to blow it outside the fence completely. We have a backpack blower, parking lot blower, but several blowers would make quick work of it. Thursday May 15th, the track will start being torn up. The track build will continue through the weekend and there will be need for folks help water, rake / smooth and pack. Sunday night will likely be pipe lay night, however, Shane will help clarify. This same weekend, we need to do a thorough clean-up. The track has been used quite a bit so far this year and folks have not been so good at throwing their garbage / cig butts away. During the Hank, and depending on weather, we need dedicated folks to help with track blow-off or watering, or both. During the race, the blow off needs to happen fast and at night following the race, a full blow off if needed. If we get a significant amout of rain before or during the hank we will need to pump the water off and dry out the track. We will also need someone dedicated to helping the RD setup in the morning and tear down as needed. We will lock the gate and night and there will be plenty of people onsite, so a full tear down may not be needed Sunday – we will have the trophies available that will need sorted and stacked by class and position prior to completion of the event. Following the event, I know we will all be tired, but a quick clean up is often needed. Please, I am sincerely asking for significant help on this event.
