Following my ambitious walk in the hilly area of the Lob, I went - TopicsExpress

Following my ambitious walk in the hilly area of the Lob, I went over to the Munro Reserve, located about half way between the Lob and Geneva, on an old stone road. The property is unique because it was connected with Gene Stratton-Porter in a special way; on the corner of the property still sits the old brick school, Hartford Township No. 6, which was the pictured school attended by Elnora in the book, Girl of the Limberlost. Of special awe today were the wild flowers emerging on the greening floor of the forest. Most were blue and white violets and wild daisies. However, in one spot, under one tree, I came across a peculiar flower that I dont ever recall seeing before, really brilliant in creation. Im not sure, but after studying a wild flower guide of Indiana, I believe it could be a flower known as, shooting star, but only a guess at this point. I welcome the expertise insight of the such as my dear friend, Terri Gorney, on this one. As I walked out of the forest, I felt such awe, the millions of flowers God created in His expansive endless creativity around the world, and yet He took the time to create special flowers in the local forests to bring intrigue and wonder to an aging native of the area still as amazed as he was years ago when he walked through these same forests with his Grandma, who could probably identify all of these. And if He cares and creates such in nature, think of the flowers he wishes to place in our hearts every day, if we open our hearts door and allow Him in.
