Following the Footsteps of Jesus Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Matthew 4:19 One of the most awesome aspects of the Christian life is to be on staff for the Heavenly Kingdom. Many of us today live extremely busy lifestyles and it seems like we are working all the time. Many times we get ran down and worn out because of our work. It seems like we don’t have the time to do the things that we really want to do such as spend time with family or friends. When you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you were born again and enrolled for the Lord’s wonderful work. Martin Luther once said that we are not saved by faith in works but we are saved by faith that works. He was saying that once you are saved you live by what you believe. That is, God shows through in every aspect of your life once you are saved. It is awesome to know that God has called every single one of us into His service to showcase His love and bring people to Jesus. There is no greater fulfillment and joy that following Jesus in every aspect of your life. A friend and I were visiting a beautiful church one Sunday and we had to walk down two flights of stairs to go to the restroom. While we were walking up the stairs going to the service I turned around and 4 young men were standing at the bottom of the stairs. I try to never take anyone for granted and I began talk to those young men. Only by the grace of God, we all gathered around and they all prayed to trust Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Those precious young men had a countenance that would light up a football stadium. We may have been stepping up the stairs, but we were following the footsteps of Jesus. Action Point Let’s remind ourselves that the Lord’s work is not a burden but a blessing. Friend, if you want to experience more blessings than you can contain begin asking God to put someone on your heart each day that you can share Jesus with. Maybe God has put someone on your heart or maybe He has put something on your heart to do for someone; experience a joy indescribable when you share the love of Jesus!
