Following the suspension of Sanusi, President Jonathan appointed Mr. Godwin Emefiele as the new CBN boss to succeed Sanusi. Meanwhile, the CBN deputy governor, Dr. Sarah Alade is to be there on acting capacity pending the confirmation of Emefieles appointment by the Senate. But Senate yesterday screened Mr Godwin Emefiele for appointment as the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria. I was impressed with the screening that lasted almost two hours. His articulated responses to issues raised shows indeed he has an indept knowledge of his responsibilities and he has the character fit for the job. HERE IS EMEFIELES PROFILES !!! Hes the Group Managing Director (GMD) of Zenith Bank Plc, a position he has held since August 2010. Until then he was the deputy managing director of the bank since 2001. Before he took over as the GMD, he has been on the banks management team since inception and has held various management positions in the bank. Emefiele has over twenty- six (26) years banking experience and holds a B.Sc. and MBA in finance both from the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). Before commencing his banking career, he lectured finance, banking and management at the University of Nigeria and University of Portharcourt respectively. Also, hes an alumnus of Stamford University, Harvard Business School and Wharton Graduate of Business where he took courses in Negotiation, Service Excellence, Critical Thinking, Leading Change and Strategy.
