For… ... Yours is the Kingdom ... Yours is the Power ... Yours is the Glory ... forever and ever Why do we plan for tomorrow, next year and retirement? Why do we worry? In life, the closer you get to a milestone, the more you consider it and even plan for it. Health insurance doesnt mean much to a twenty year old. They are indestructable and have their whole life before them. But as we reach our forties and fifties we start realizing this to be not so. Our bodies do wear out and we only have so many years to produce wealth. But the question came to me this morning. Do the things I worry about, or strive for, lose their effect after death? The things I worried for at 20 seemed foolish at 30. And the things I worried about at 30 sure seem silly now. I am beginning to consider my focus. Do the things I worry for lose their effects after death? What in my life now will be there after death? Certainly my faith and my family. But what about things? I have lived long enough to know that the new shiny thing I purchase today will have to be replaced in a few short years. So do I really need this? Does it affect my future, after I die? Consider what you strive for. The only thing around us that is permanent is the things of the Kingdom. It is His Kingdom. It is only by the power of the Holy Spirit that we move forward. In Him we live and breath and have our being. And all the Glory is His. We work to take care of ourselves and our families and to financially build the Kingdom. Our friendships are to build others up for the structure of the Body of Christ, which is the Kingdom. Let all you do be for the Glory of God. Because that is the only thing that will remain.
