For all of you that dont know my son Adam Patrick Huffaker near drowning miracle story. I am going to tell you again because It needs to be heard periodically. When Adam was just 3 days shy of being 10, he fell into our new neighborhood retention pond, for which I didnt realize was there, I thought there was only small creek. When I say near drowning, which means he literally drown and was pronounced dead for 20 minutes. The Fireman, Doctors and Nurses @ Johnson Memorial worked VERY hard to get Adams heart started and by ONLY the grace of God, they did. Upon being then rushed to Methodist Hospital via emergency helicopter, for which they didnt give Adam very much chances for survival. He beat their odds and starting fighting for his life... setting the ventilator off and breathing on his own. Then his next battle was brain swelling... he conquered that and then coma set in and the for what I call and best way to describe it when a brain gets lack of oxygen.. mid evil torture brain chambers, for which he was in for 3 long and grueling months total. The Doctors again then gave Adam no chances of waking from that coma and then decided to send him home as a last resort to wake him up. 1 day EXACTLY from being home, he woke and started then blinking his eyes and looking at me helplessly to let me know he is awake. At the moment I felt Gods presence come over me saying: I saved your child, its time now for you take the wheel and do the rest. I IMMEDIATELY starting to figure out what to do. A PT Therapist then came in and annualized Adam and said: Adam is all there, he is just trapped in his body and his brain has to go through stages on his motor skills like a new born baby. We were then sent to the Miracle Workers Therapist @ Library Park Rehabilitation, 5 days a week, 3 hours a day. Kristina Watkins, Meghan Westbury Meyers and Beth Genday for which they worked VERY hard to get Adam to walk, eat, talk and just the simple picking up a object, that everyone takes a advantage of everyday. He is conquered ALL these things and who he is today, a STRONG, WITTY, INTELLIGENT, BEAUTIFUL SENSE OF HUMOR, HANDSOME and KIND! Before Adams accident he dreamed about being a Warrior, like every little boy does. Well my sons dream DID come true, he is a TRUE Warrior and he has the battle scars to prove it. And like I said God was and IS his Commander and Chief. Little did I know our Heavenly Father was distilling that in my child I was pregnant with 19 years ago and I feel VERY honored God chose me to be his Mother... and I WOULDNT want it any other way.
