For everyone that doesnt hunt. Bear hunting is in Maines heritage. Baiting bear is the most humane way to hunt these big animals. Without baiting bear or even hunting bear in general the population will grow out of hand. Bears will get into peoples trash,get diseases, possible kill our pets and worst case they could attack us. Bear baiting brings in money not only for the state of Maine but for the guide services around the state that allow out of staters and even maine residence to go on a guided hunt. I am a hunter I have been since a very young age its not only a family tradition its a way of life. Most people dont kill an animal just to say they killed it. They do it because killing these animals produce a lot of meat, 100% natural with no hormones or chemicals. They also do it because it brings familys together and spend time together. Many familys in Maine just like mine work a lot and dont have much time to spend with there family, one of the ways my family gets to spend time together and enjoy the outdoors and what Maine has to offer and hunt.
