For immediate release Troy Bicentennial Committee Contact: Marty Baker (937) 335-6397 EVERYONE LOVES A PARADE August 19, 2014 – Troy, OH – Help celebrate Troy’s 200th birthday by participating in an exciting parade! The deadline is approaching and the committee is asking that individuals, clubs, and organizations who wish to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to call 339-8955 now for an application. All of those who have provided military service to our country at any time are invited to participate by being in the area of Lincoln Avenue, south of Drury Lane in Troy by 4:00 p.m. on parade day, with no advance registration necessary, to join all of those being honored for their service. Parking in the area will be available for veterans. Enter the staging area from Ridge Avenue to Drury Lane to Lincoln Avenue. As part of the Troy Bicentennial Finale, the parade is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. on September 20. It will begin on West Market to South Market and proceed to the square, then west on West Main Street to Monroe Street, culminating at the intersection of Monroe and West Franklin Street. Following the parade, family activities are planned at Hobart Arena. Don’t miss the chance to participate in a birthday party for our City!
