For many years Fleet has hosted a one day celebration coming up to Christmas, formerly known as the Fleet Festivities. This incredibly successful event has year on year, brought several thousand people to the town to watch the switching on of the Christmas lights and to enjoy the stalls and entertainment that line the pedestrianised high street. Local Churches support the event, with choirs and publicising church events through Advent and Christmas. This year, at very short notice, a new Fleet & District Festival Committee was formed and the volunteer members involved are now working their socks off to make sure the event is secure for 2013 and the future.
