For the first time ever, “AAA has come up with a sobering statistic: the average price of gasoline will surpass $3 per gallon Tuesday for the 1,000th consecutive day”. America isn’t quite there on the electric car or personal transportation that primarily runs on anything but fossil fuels. Kids arrive at school on fossil fueled buses. Food gets delivered to super markets using fossil fueled vehicles. America, and especially North America, has abundant fossil fuels despite the Administration removal of vast amounts of Federal lands from exploration. Communist China, in concert with Communist Cuba, plan drilling for offshore oil in close proximity to the USA. But Virginia and New Jersey cannot drill off-shore. Imports of Venezuelan heavy crude support an oppressive, Anti-American regime. But imports of heavy crude from America’s number one trading partner and ally, Canada, are blocked by the Administration. Middle Eastern Terrorism is funded in part from America’s transfer of dollars for their war torn oil. The American economy runs on fossil fuels. The lack of a realistic and coherent energy policy by Congress and the Administration is robbing the current generation of American youth of the opportunity to prosper, or even participate in our exceptional nation’s economy. Highly efficient fossil fuels are dirty wherever they come from. America at least cares about the environment and the responsible use of resources. But, China, Venezuela and the Middle East? Not so much.
