For the next few weeks well be posting brief comments and behind the tracks-type posts about some of the songs released on Remixes... We start off this journey with the track most popular on our bandcamp page: Volume 10 Every album has to have a party track. That’s what Volume 10 [the original version] was intended to be – the title; a reference to turning up the volume up to max, if you didnt already guess that. The lyrics talk about how rap has changed over the years, and how it comes full circle – fads, trends, flavors of the month. They also brush on the subject of keeping my[Abs] core values intact while making music. So as to not be a fad – but just being myself. At the center of the track is that continuously chewing djembe drum, accompanied by a few guitars. The guitars were actually added to the mix quite late – the original idea was to leave the track ultra simple, with only raps and drums. crowscollab.bandcamp/track/volume-10
