For those advocating for the so called green or sustainable energy use, check out the problems with the largest solar plant built and trying to come on line on the CA border. A few of the non regulatory problems include killing thousands of birds and blinding pilots plus disrupting the habitat of the desert creatures in its 10 square mile footprint. And it is not even in operation so we dont know all the problems, but we do know that the cost of the electricity it will produce is about twice that of a coal fired plant, so you can just double your winters bill to see what you would have paid last season. From a strictly financial point would you be willing to pay twice for electricity or would a 25% increase to pay for coal ash clean up be more appealing? I need to mention that this plant uses mirrors, not solar cells, so advanced solar cell technology will not reduce the cost of electricity there
