For those following the Kitten Story, here is an update. The Cat is healthy, and seems happy. I have been on a binge re-reading my Heinlein juveniles over the past few days, and the cat seems to really like classic sci fi. It is good reading for a pre adolescent male. He curls up on my chest, and purrs like crazy. He is still a little shy about initiating contact, but will come up and flirt, sometimes asking to be picked up, and sometimes daring us to try and catch him. In either case, he is looking for some cuddle time, but sometimes he wants to play first. I have made him a toy from an old style hard shell cigarette pack, with a single 10mm rivet rattling around loose inside, with a modern cigarette cellophane around it. I have found over the years that this is, well, like catnip. Cats cant resist chasing them around when you throw them across the room. Last night, when I was hit with insomnia, I went and lay on the couch with an audiobook. Apparently, he doesnt mid snoring, as he was on my chest two hours later when I sorta woke up from my sorta sleep. At the suggestion of my buddy Sebastian, he has been adoubed Patronius the Arbiter. My wife and I are in a small battle of wills, because I have been calling him Pete, and my wife is calling him Paddy. He hasnt gotten the hang of the litter box yet. It is a little more difficult, because he is still a little shy about pooping around humans. He keeps getting picked up and placed in his litter box. He complained a bit about it at first, but now he just sort of accepts it. All in all, hes doing well.
