For those who dont know Franz Schreker and who would like to understand what is that style called Jugendstill in the beginning of twentieth century in Germany ... It is a tonal music, but the tonality is at its extreme limits, and with an incredible flowering sounds like an extremely bright, glittering bouquet, full of so many different colors and virtually unordered, that the eye cannot distinguish them ... but here, there are the sounds that multiply to infinity ... In a certain sense, german Jugenstil is a little bit the german form of french impressionism ........ I give below the instrumentll prelude, very relevant from this Jugenstil style, and extracts of first act ...... Franz Schrker was a german jewish composer living in the beginning of twemtieth century ... He was so persecuted by the Nazis that he died of a heart attack in the early thirties https://youtube/watch?v=fYZNhE15SOY https://youtube/watch?v=o9H9FZg_8pw
