For those who hadnt watched Zankyou no Terrors last episode, spoilers ahead. For those who have, feel free to continue and share your thoughts too! . . . . . . . . . . Im devastated. I started shocked, speechless, numb, and didnt know where to begin explaining this feeling since watching it after it aired. That last 9minutes.. when they got together, and for the first time Nine and Twelve were acting a little more their age, playing, smiling, and not planning to destroy Japan. It was beautiful.. Until the US army interference, and when they decided to open fire to keep a national secret. Twelve died on the spot, not given a chance to say goodbye, thank you or anything before his lifeless body fell to the ground. It was shocking because its just like what happens in life. In situations like this, thats exactly what happens when someone is instantaneously murdered. In that moment, its like reality was slapped across your face. That this is real, this is life, and this is how the world works. After spending 10-ish episodes understanding the characters, in a way theyve kept a place within so that scene being so powerful, just breaks you. Because though we did expect them to die eventually together with the other children, I didnt expect it to be in this way. It was like it didnt matter if Twelves lifespan was left with just minutes like Nine.. If youre targeted, youre gone, just like that. Though Its just anime, this series was bringing across a strong message, and it delivered. Its probably the most impactful anime ending Ive ever seen, and whats scary is its again... so real. I dont know what others are thinking too, but I am personally very happy with how well-executed it ended, that the pain has been killing me all day. The scene with the numbered grave markers....broke me down so badly. Though not complaining, Im crossing my fingers that the production team will come up with a guide book or something that can explain more into the unspoken details! In the end..... they brought their message across ;A; Something inside me is fighting too, like goodness its not real, its embarrassing, get a grip! But decided to throw that away and write out my overflowing feelings for the first anime that put me in this state because theres so much to think about. Human actions, selfishness, why, decipher decipher.... Thank you for being such a wonderful series
