For those who havent heard, a man who was not a person of color - TopicsExpress

For those who havent heard, a man who was not a person of color fired 100 rounds of ammunition in the space of 10 minutes in downtown Austin just before 2:30 this morning. In fact, it was just 22 minutes after the clubs in the same area had closed down. His targets were the police department, the federal courthouse, and the Mexican consulate. No one was hurt except the perpetrator, who was either shot by an officer or killed himself (or both). It was then discovered he was wearing a vest and had what may have been an IED in his car. Which isnt my point but background for why I constantly nag people to take what they read/hear in the media with a grain of salt. At a subsequent news conference, the chief of police speculated the individual may have been affected by the current uproar over immigration. It was clear he was speculating because he said so—four times. So, how did the updated story run on the USAToday website? Headline: Slain Austin shooter likely had anti-government motive Lede: A white, middle-aged gunman, in what appears to be a politically motivated anti-government attack linked to immigration… Would someone find out which USAToday reporter was covering the story and provide him/her with a dictionary so he/she can look up the definition of the word speculate? Thank you.
