Found these brilliant words on the last burst of the Chinese year of the water snake, as it slithers towards death on January 30th. This is totally ringing true for me... We still have a full 2 weeks left of the water snake year- it is a dense time of shedding, slow movement, deep, dark, watery inner inquiry and inner death of the old you as you clear space for new life and a new way of living. As we have all had a really transformative, at times incredibly challenging and difficult year, its certainly exciting to look forward to a better and brighter time spiritually with the Horse- but we are not quite there yet. Were still in the water snakes waters and she just might sting if youre looking ahead too much and not paying attention to her continuing lessons. So be present. Surrender to what is. Be gentle with yourself as you might still be in the muck and mire, beneath an avalanche of questions. Now is a great time to seek a healer- reach for a hand in the mystery of the darkness. While the questions will be answered in the coming year, for now, live with their mystery. Try to live this final month of the snake with all her unanswered questions like a great mystery movie. Let not knowing whats around the next corner intrigue you. In her last month, the snake might fight to die - as everything does- and bring up some more old skins to be seen and shed. Before the new moon on January 30 that heralds the year of the Horse with its fast, fiery, lucky energy, allow for more deep wet and Mysterious darkness of the water snake. In other words, dont jump on the Horse just quite yet.
