Four American soliders were killed this week in Afghanistan. Did - TopicsExpress

Four American soliders were killed this week in Afghanistan. Did the national news cover that attack? Did the local papers make it front page news? No and no are the answers. What did you hear and see in print? James Gandolfini dead at the age of 51 from a heart attack. Albeit sad that Tony Saprano has died and will no longer grace the world with his acting skills it is even more tragic that the world cares more about his death then American soliders dying in combat. Ironically Gandolfini was committed to paying his respects to our military members and he went the extra mile to recoginize the supreme sacriffice that so many have given for American values and beliefs. Gandolfini visited soliders in war zones and produced and directed an HBO documentary on PTSD. He cared and it showed. He had the ways and means to make a difference for our active duty and former military members. Gandolfini was an all around superman. I tip my hat to him and all the good he did in this world. One of the dead Americans was a local solider. US Army Sgt. Justin Johnson, age 25 stationed at Ft.Eustis. Sgt.Johnson had allready been awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for combat injuries from the Iraq war. His mother lives here in Virgina Beach.Sgt.Johnson death did not make the front page. Gandolfinis did. I venture to guess that Tony Saprano would not want so much attention focused on his death, instead he would want the story told of the combat deaths of four American soliders. St.John X,28: I GIVE UNTO THEM ETERNAL LIFE AND THEY SHALL NEVER PERISH.
