Fox Sports Australia has ignored my suggestions on how to fix - TopicsExpress

Fox Sports Australia has ignored my suggestions on how to fix their Fantasy Super Rugby format. After some detective work I was able to find the email of the Head of Sports News (Gary) and also someone in charge of their digital content. Maybe after this email they will take more notice. Now we play the waiting game.. Hi Gary Just a friendly message letting you know that the Fox Sports website is playing up. There are some fun little blocks of colour that gets in the way of things. I hope they arent structural, Gary. More specifically, the Fantasy Super Rugby page has many areas occluded. Now, Im the commissioner of my fantasy rugby competition, Gary. And my fellow fantasy players come to me with their issues, their gripes, and their many problems. And I know youre a busy man, Gary, but what am I supposed to tell my members when the organisation, nay the INSTITUTION, we put our collective fantasy rugby trust in serves up something like this to its users? Yes, I know I know, its a free service, but that doesnt stop the frustration! Im already up until the wee hours of the mornings pontificating over the myriad of possible reasons why disturbing things happen in the world. Why are there wars? Why are there such awful people, who do such awful things? And more and more lately, why doesnt Fox Sports give its Super Rugby supporters a fantasy competition on par with what it offers to Rugby League and Aussie Rules fans??? Already I have had to come up with solutions to the falling-shortedness of Fox Sports in this department by employing the use of a Facebook page set up exclusively to document transfers from player to player, and a Google Docs spread sheet to provide a real-time display of the league-members teams. As the organisation with sole TV rights to this rugby competition in Australia, you would think that Fox Sports would do more to satiate their growing audience and market. Im here to tell you you can, Gary, you can! Give us the option to play in unique leagues. For too long we have sat in the shadows, running the risk of choosing a side with the same players as our opposition. What are we to you, Gary, animals!? Second rate citizens? WELL, NO MORE! We are not Noahs of the Fantasy world, our players come in in ones, never pairs! Give us timely updates of players that are available too, Gary! After numerous Fox Sports stories reporting on Alofa Alofas preseason success, I was forced to wait 2 days after his inclusion in the Waratahs side to be able to select him in my team. 2 days, Gary! I could have been doing so much more in that time! A final and by no means less important note is that surely, SURELY, someone in your organisation (that apparently loves rugby) would have realised that players change positions week-to-week. Sometimes they will be at fullback, the next week they might be on the wing. Sometimes a fly half will play at centre, or a winger will move in, or vice-versa. Why has the design changed from that of a few years ago when Fox Sports allowed a back line to consist of a Scrum half, 3 Inside backs and 3 Outside Backs, to the farcical nonsense of nonsenses we see presented to us today with a scrum half, a fly half, 2 centres and 3 outside backs, when we know a player wont necessarily play there all season?! You see my frustration, Gary. But it has lead me to believe that maybe Fox Sports just doesnt have someone on its staff who knows what their fantasy players want and need. Maybe Fox Sports has been waiting. Waiting for someone to say No, not anymore!. For someone to give a voice to the voiceless. For someone to step up and lead his forgotten brothers and sisters out from the shadows and into the light of a more practical fantasy rugby format. To demand justice where before there has been only injustice. To fight for what is right and true. We are here, Gary, and we shall not be moved! As such, I hereby offer my services (paid) to Fox Sports as Fantasy Super Rugby General Manager and Executive Decision Maker to improve this product, a product that could be so much more. Unfortunately I live in Brisbane, but I am willing to work externally (for a fee, of course). This system of greed and corruption favouring the more popular sports cannot continue. We will not stand for it. The time has come for it to stop. You can help set this change in motion, Gary, or history will remember you as the one who stood in the way. The choice is yours. But I will not stop. I will not back down. I will not stay silent. Because I am the hero that Fox Sports needs, but not the one it deserves right now. Yes they will hunt me, because I can take it...because Im not a hero...Im a silent guardian, a watchful protector...the Dark Knight. I am the Dark Knight of Fantasy Rugby, Gary. Yours in the warmest of regards Mr Matthew T Jewell
