Fox & Weeks is privileged to serve the family and loved ones of Marvin P. Heery, III, who died on July 9 at Memorial Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born in Savannah in 1951 to the late Marvin P. Heery, Jr. and Mamie O. Guest. He was a graduate of Savannah High School. He attended St. Andrews Presbyterian College and received a Bachelors degree from N.C. State University in Computer Science. He was a member of Lamda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He was formerly employed by Duke Power in Raleigh, NC and Computer Associates in Atlanta. He was a former member of Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church. In his last years he became an advocate for the homeless population and was an active member of the Homeless Ministry. He is survived by a sister, Marcia Heery Davis and two nephews, Will Davis and Robert Davis, all of Richmond, VA. He is also survived by two great nephews, Jay and Macon Davis and a great niece, Caroline Davis also of Richmond, VA. A graveside service was held at Greenwich Cemetery. The family suggests any remembrances be made in his memory to The Salvation Army, Grace House or any service serving the homeless population in the Savannah area.
