Free advice to Kwasi Appiah: Sir, please, dont go and play and two-by-four 4-4-2 formation at the world cup. Our current crop of players dont seem so cut-out for that style. Going for that formation, to me, will be akin to reinventing the wheel. We clearly dont need that at this stage, do we? Lets stick to the formation that has brought us some success in recent years. Our Serbian-born-and-ordained 4-5-1 formation. With inexperience being the appropriate word to describe our back-four, it will even be wiser, to me, if you can play 5 or 6 defenders when we meet a team like Portugal, which features the Super-Fantastic Cristiano Ronaldo. That said, i congratulate you on your first-ever hit-your-chest Black Star selection you announced recently. The first 26-man squad you announced initially, i mean. All those in my inner circle of football-lovers will tell you how happy i was when you named ONLY 26 players instead of the widely-predicted 30. That was bold and decisive. I fell in love with you at once. In fact, one of the few decisions coming from you as a coach that ive wholeheartedly admired and saluted. (I may take it back if you fail to take Jordan Ayew to the world cup proper. :p.) But, a day or two later, we were told that youve included some 4 players in the list - a 4-man (or were they 4 women?) standby list! 3no nso 3fri he? Wei, 3ni hw3 he?, i shouted when the news entered my ears. Ah, Kwasi paa, i was shocked. Anyway, it is clear for all to see that you didnt make that decision. That was not coming from you. No wonder Maxwell Konadu, your second-in-command, was allegedly heard on tape criticising your decision to include a certain player. That decision, whoever it came from, was really unnecessary. If you really had those people as part of your original plans, why didnt you state that at your press conference? Who were you trying to appease or impress with that standby list? Those Ghanaians who were up in arms because you named only one locally-based footballer? Is that it, please? I agreed with your decision, and the reasons you ascribed to that was heart-warming: you chose competence ahead of anything. That is the hallmark of a serious-minded coach. Well done! Please, continue to be firm in your decisions and straight-to-the-point with us. We are not ready, and, in fact, we will not take kindly to any back-and-forth childs-play decisions from now till we lift the cup in Brazil. Yani abre s3 k)t) mogya (to wit: our eyes are as red as the blood of a crab). We are going to the world cup to win it. No matter how blurred that vision and dream may appear to others, i have the hope that it can be possible. Our Stars WILL and MUST deliver. Anything short of what we showcased in South Africa 2010 is failure. Thank you, A concerned Ghanaian.
