Friends, Last January you’ll remember that Mike brought two friends to Wichita: Rep. Tom Cotton (Arkansas) and Sen. Tim Scott (South Carolina). Tom is challenging a second-generation Senate Democrat incumbent and Tim is launching his first campaign as a U.S. Senator. Mike’s intention was to work this year to help them both to victories and, anticipating a quieter election year for himself, do everything he could to see that Republicans won the majority in the U.S. Senate this November. Unfortunately, due to our Republican primary challenger, he was unable to maintain that focus. Now, however, in these final 40 days we are able to lend a hand—right in our own backyard. You’ve surely noted that Sen. Pat Roberts’ re-election race against so-called “independent,” Overland Park businessman Greg Orman, has thrust Kansas into the national news on a regular basis. As so many across America are working to turn over the majority in the U.S. Senate to the Republicans, we in Kansas have to do our part by working to ensure that our Kansas Senator is re-elected. Please join Mike and me next Monday, September 29 at Murfin Stables as we support the re-election of Sen. Roberts by joining he and Franki in welcoming Gov. Jeb Bush to Wichita. Let’s be sure there’s a big Kansas welcome for Gov. Bush and, most importantly, a victory for Sen. Roberts on November 4th. 40 days to victory! Susan
