Friends of David Gambatese, a Wickliffe Middle School student, are raising money for his family while he remains in hospice care. “David was just about to finish 7th grade at Wickliffe Middle School when an asthma attack put him on life support,” wrote Lyndsey Kunsman on David’s GoFundMe site at gofundme/aam2jg. “David has been moved to a hospice center and his family will need all the support and prayers they can get.” Wickliffe is a small community, and these kids have known each other since preschool, said Kunsman, who started the fund. Her daughter is an eighth-grader at the middle school and David’s classmate. “Our principal did an all call to all the families pointing them to the fund,” she said. “We’re just trying to pass the word. It just isn’t fair. He’s 13.” The fund can be found at gofundme/aam2jg.
