Recently an Alaskan Malamute apparently mauled a baby over in Wales, with the press going absolutely mental about how the dog ate a babys head off (which was never actually proven, nor did the media detail what actually happened or hold any interviews with anyone). So now the most beautiful, gentle dogs have a bad rep. When I go out walking with my husky, some owners are terrified of going near her. Gah! Dogs that attack should be rehabilitated first. Only if such efforts fail, then should PTS be considered. Animal welfare groups should push for such rehabilitation programmes here in Malaysia with professionals to do this.
