From Genesis: Everyone that Joseph trusted disappointed him – - TopicsExpress

From Genesis: Everyone that Joseph trusted disappointed him – except God. His brothers deserted him and sold him to slavery; Potiphar jailed him for a sin that he did not commit, and Pharaoh’s chief butler – who promised him heaven and earth – soon forgot him once he was released from the prison. Meanwhile, God remained faithful to Joseph – despite all embarrassments and disappointments from trusted friends. Through divine arrangement, God elevated Joseph to a position of honor. He used King Pharaoh to promote Joseph since he was the only person who could perfectly interpret his dream and give proper recommendations. King Pharaoh appointed Joseph as the prime minister of Egypt (a foreign land). The King said to Joseph, “…In as much as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you. You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you.” And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt” (Genesis 41:39-41). Lesson: God will surely fulfill his plans over his children. No human or any other force can stop him when he is determined to lift us up. Even, when a man fails his promises and it seems that all hope is dashed, God will still prove himself faithful! He will bless us, and he will make his face to shine on us. (Can someone say: “Yes I believe!”). Prayer: Dear God, please let all your promises for my life come to pass. Suppress and bypass all oppositions to glorify your name in my life. Help my dreams and aspirations to come into materializations. Please let your face shine upon me, and let the whole world glorify your name through me. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
