From: Judge Ralph S. Lee (RTC Br 83 QC WE SUPPORT THE CHIEF JUSTICE The Judiciary Development Fund provides a lifeline for judiciary employees and members. Apart from providing income it is a crucial source of operational funds required to carry out judicial functions, support and welfare needs of employees and members; if diminished, judicial functions will be seriously compromised. The funds budgeted by the legislator for judiciary, the third branch of government barely amounts to one percent 1% of the entire national budget. The supplement generated from the Fund is a contigent amount, which only brings only an additional but indispensable 15% of the judiciary budget. We know of no other country that provides judges a contigent compensation but we are happy to take what we can. We support the position taken by the Chief Justice and the Supreme Court on current proceedings in the House about the Judicial Development Fund. Its stability must be maintained.
