From Leeanna Bøe...Let me first begin by saying Cedar Ridge is a wonderful community and they do a lot of good for a large group of senior citizens and disabled people in this town everyday! An anonymous person had posted about a bad experience at the Cedar Ridge safe room when tornado sirens sounded a few days ago here in town...My intentions for commenting on the post were to use my experience to try and answer some of the questions and responses that came about from that post. What I had no intentions of doing then, now, or in the future was to make Pawhuska nor Cedar Ridge look like a terrible place. I simply wanted this matter addressed so that it would not happen again... whether it be the fault of a bad policy or human error/bad choice by the gentleman in charge of the safe room that day. My hope is that Cedar Ridge heard this cry of outrage, addressed it, and will now inform their residents of the policy concerning tornado sirens and when the doors will be locked down. This way the next time there will not be any confusion to those that braved the weather conditions to make their way to the safe room only to be denied and have to get back to their homes to take shelter before a tornado hits.
