From Meg Williams Jamison: Greetings friends and colleagues, I wanted to share that Local First Arizona is still seeking a qualified and outgoing candidate for a VISTA Outreach Coordinator. This person would be working with me and would be working on a variety of our campaigns and programs throughout northern Arizona. This position description describes much of the work being done in the Verde Valley, however, the candidate can really live anywhere in northern Arizona, including Flagstaff or Prescott, etc. This position would start November 8, 2014 and would run until November 7, 2014. A more detailed description of what this position will entail is below for your reference. Please let me know if you have any questions and thanks again! • The VISTA member will serve as an Outreach Coordinator with the main goals of increasing community awareness about the important role of local business in local rural economies, promoting and coordinating Local First Arizona campaigns in northern Arizona including the Buy Local Month and the Shift Your Shopping campaign, empowering local residents to support and start local businesses, creating new methods of marketing for the local community and developing monthly educational events that encourage the development collaboration that helps the community to work together creating a more vibrant community. VISTA member duties would include, but are not limited to, developing an e-newsletter and other outreach strategies to increase community awareness, working with the local business community to identify impact stories of local business supporting the local economy, coordinating and promoting monthly educational workshops, implementing monthly networking opportunities to increase community connection and collaboration, establishing partnerships with local media, promoting Local First Arizona membership to increase program sustainability, developing educational and promotional material highlighting assets of the local community and importance of supporting local economy and more.
