From Roscosmos A new satellite constellation was born on Tuesday as a Soyuz launch vehicle blasting off from French Guiana delivered the first four Satellites for O3b Networks’ new communications system to Medium Earth Orbit. The Soyuz 2-1B (ST-B) rocket equipped with a Fregat Upper Stage blasted off from the ELS Launch Site at the Guiana Space Center at 19:27 UTC on Tuesday. Soyuz made a picture-perfect ascent, delivering the Fregat Upper Stage and the payloads to the expected flight path. Fregat performed a total of four burns during the 2-hour 22-minute ascent mission to successfully deliver all four satellites to their target orbit. Credit Arianespace/ESA/CNES
