From a member: Im reaching out here cause nobody else just seems to understand .. I am veteran and my husband is as well suffers from severe ptsd and a TBI just to give you some background. Three months ago now he was medically retired from the Army and has come home upon his return though I found out while at his last duty station he was having an affair (chick is in the military too) I discovered it on his phone.. Text back & forth etc.. I agreed to work out our marriage (we have been married for a little over two years now). I forgive him but it still hurts as if I just found out yesterday but heck its only been three months since I found out. These type of things take time I realize that. I really do not know how to heal though. Ive always had the answer for everyone else with these type of problems & now that its my own problem I dont know how to cope and move past it. Ive thought about getting self help books to read but there are so many out there I dont know whats reputable & whats not. I need advice. I need assurance that the way things use to be on our marriage will eventually get back to that.. Any advice would be great.. I want to do counseling but tricare does not cover it for ptsd veterans apparently and we would be paying out of pocket for it so thats why counseling hasnt been sought.
