From a momma: Hello all. My 4 year old son has had his g-tube for 3 years. For the past year he has been 100% g-tube dependant due to violent vomiting after each meal. Our problem is stubborn granulation tissue. In 3 years he has had 2 surgeries to cut tissue and skin growth as well as decrease stoma size, one hospital stay to treat the same listed issues with little positive outcome. Hes had endless silver nitrate treatments, TobraDex drops, Triamcinolone creams and Mesalt strips. Nothing works. Surgery only lasts 3-7 months if we are lucky. He is scheduled for a g-tube replacement on 12/1/14. I would rather not as they will need to close the current stoma, reattach the stomach and insert a new tube in a new stoma. We already know this too is not a permanent fix. Any advice from others with this problem would be greatly appreciated. I am open to all suggestions. Thank you fellow parents of tubies!
