We have just released our 43rd annual Congressional ratings. Unfortunately, its not pretty. At the end of 2013, a majority of Republicans voted for a two-year budget that increased spending and paid for it with a tax increase and military pension reductions. ACU is committed to our founding principles of constitutionally limited government, individual liberty, free markets, a strong defense and traditional American values. But only 18 Senators and Members of Congress scored 100% last year: Sen. Tom Coburn (OK) Sen. Ted Cruz (TX) Sen. Mike Lee (UT) Rep. Michele Bachmann (MN-6) Rep. Ron DeSantis (FL-6) Rep. Jeff Duncan (SC-3) Rep. Scott Garrett (NJ-5) Rep. Trey Gowdy (SC-4) Rep. Jim Jordan (OH-4) Rep. Raul Labrador (ID-1) Rep. Tom McClintock (CA-4) Rep. Mick Mulvaney (SC-5) Rep. Mike Pompeo (KS-4) Rep. Trey Radel (FL-19) Rep. Matt Salmon (AZ-1) Rep. Steve Scalise (LA-1) Rep. David Schweikert (AZ-6) Rep. Steve Stockman (TX-36) And of all 450+ Senators and Members of Congress who are not still in the midst of their first term in office, only Rep. Jim Jordan (OH-4) can boast a perfect 100% lifetime rating. We salute and honor his commitment to conservative principles. Bravo, sir.
