From my very incredible pal, Ally Stephenson, who found this from CrossFit Destin: MasterBert Rodriguez Self Control Builds Character Our emotions, together with the way we respond to them, create what is often called “character.” It is character that determines success or failure, and character is always a work in progress. We need to work with both our physical, mental and spiritual aspects in order to deal with the world around us. From a physical perspective, the better you can control your feet, hands, timing, range, coordination, strength, and speed, the better you will be able to understand and deal with and control someone else’s. Likewise, the more you can understand and control your mind and different emotions, the better you will be able to understand and deal and blend with the people around you. In this way, you can gain greater control of your life. Every opportunity you have to work with your emotions, even with small or with seemingly insignificant events, will help you develop the strength you need to confront major issues. The energies you possess can be compared to the power of electricity. When we didn’t realize its existence, it lay dormant for hundreds of years, but as we learned about its power, its potential, and how to use it, we have improved our lives in countless ways. Electricity still has the capability to hurt or even kill us, but when used wisely, it is an indispensable ally. Believe in your ability to overcome whatever you confront. Don’t let fear keep you from experiencing the joy of success. The possibility of having a dream come true is what makes life interesting. (FFCC)
