Today I did some research and it is looking very positive for the state believing that everything we did at Ocotillo Wells, should put us on solid ground for defending this lawsuit. It sounds like they are planning to move ahead quickly and I believe will complete the challenge as required in the 30 day time frame. That will be the first hurdle as we discussed last night. After that will be the time for the community to intervene in the law suit, and be able to help the state to prove that open riding is allowed within the legislation and that the park is heading the right direction with the general plan to complete the process necessary for long term management for recreation and resource protection in a balanced manner. Not that the battle is over, as this is still our biggest challenge facing the desert recreation today, but I believe we are heading the right direction. I feel confident that the powers that be in Sacramento are aware of the importance of prevailing in this suit, and what Ocotillo Wells means to you all. However, keep positive things moving, sharing with those who can make a difference, and planning for our next steps. Continue to write the letters and notify your representatives about the importance of the park and the values it holds for you and the people of California. There must be good Karma coming our way from all the positive thoughts as just knowing we have support in the places of influence in Sacramento is huge ! Keep up the great work.
