From what Ive read already, it appears many people already shop, regularly or occasionally at a large, out of town, supermarket but many are also in favour of a new, larger supermarket for Louth but the question is - edge of the town centre, possibly part of a new shopping centre mall or close enough for it to encourage further shopping and browsing in our quaint market town centre? As expansion appears to be the only way forward in terms of all the projected house expansion schemes currently being proposed, we, the people of Louth need to ensure we make the right choices about how we want to see our own town expand as it surely will - this is both inevitable and unavoidable. Well, we have a choice but choice rarely comes without sacrifice. Could you answer these questions? * How many people who attend the local, Thursday cattle market shop in the town? * Would an edge of town shopping mall kill the town centre? * Would a supermarket on the cattle market site be large enough to keep residents from out-of -town supermarket shopping? * As the old swimming pool was funded by public donations, let local groups with their own proven funds take it over for yearly lets at a peppercorn rent. My brothers were really into skateboarding as were my own children so this is not just a passing trend. Skateparks cater for skateboarders, skaters and BMX enthusiasts - in my opinion - much better to do a sport that doesnt involve an electronic babysitter!!! We are not going to be able to stop the housing developments taking place - the developers propose x00, we object and they reduce it to the number they were going to build in the first place. You all have a voice. We cant win every battle but at least we can have a bloody good war!!!
