Future SNP leader and First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has been invited on Strictly Come Dancing after the SNP was snubbed for the TV debates. The BBC is understood to have made the offer to the Glasgow Southside MSP after broadcasters excluded the Nationalists from televised clashes ahead of the next general election. The SNP hit out at plans announced by broadcasters to invite Ukip leader and Viz character made flesh Nigel Farage to join David Cameron, Nick Clegg and that guy who leads the Labour Party-- Mili-something-- no the other one, to take part in the three programmes. The Nationalists were not included on the grounds that Scotland has already had its referendum fun and it was time for the grown-ups to take over politics again. A broadcasting insider said: If Nicola Sturgeon wanted to get into the debates, she should have smoked 40 a day, skulled a dozen pints for the TV cameras, and answered every question she was ever asked with Well, it just stands to reason, dunnit?
