God keeps a good record. From my desk this Wednesday: My test for today is found in Philippians 1:19-30. These scriptures tell the story of Paul desiring to leave this world and be home with Jesus; but he confesses that is better. But it is expedient that I stay for your sake. I hope to come your way; but if not let me hear that your remain steadfast in Christ, and love for one another in one accord.Paul wrote this letter from prison in Rome; and as he sit there,in prison, Paul had an inner struggle going on regarding his living here. Life, on this earth was unimportant apart from his service to others and his Lord. He had a desire to die, which was of the most importance, for in dying meant he would enter into the very presence of his Lord, whom He loved with all his heart.Paul knew that his willingness to die, and the suffering would end (23) But: it could weaken his work to help the young to be established, and to lead others to Christ. He did not want to fail the Lord, but he meant, not my will, but Thy will be done; for he believed that Jesus would lead him so that he would not fail in serving Him; and he knew that Jesus would help him, you and I, to face all situations victoriously, V 24-26. Paul knew, by the Spirit of Christ, that ahead the young church at Philippi would soon face persecution, and some death.27-30 So Paul sought to live here and encourage them to stand fast. We never know, but God does, how wide our influence in Christ shall reach. It begins in the home life;are we patient with the lives of our children and wife, Not to lose ones temper,and say things that later will plague the little ones.Do you know,husbands and wives, you can damage each other by hate, or love, and our unforgiving spirits, can lead to a divorce, and the children be scared forever.The life we live spreads to all areas of our life, how we live before others at work, are we loyal to our employer, even if they are cruel to you? How about the needy, do you seek to do unto others as you would have them do unto you? How about those neighbors who do evil to you? Do you pray for them, do good unto them when possible? And the list goes on; Do you love sinner and saint alike even though they do not seem to love you?The lives we live, our speech, and actions, and the tongue:Do you not know how we live affects everyone around us, and hurts Christ also if we fail to live a life of agape love to all: we fail the lord and do harm to so many. Amen and Amen. A short prayer: Help us dear Lord: that all of us to live a life of Love for all; and if suffering is the result, grant us Your Grace, that we might live a life in a daily act of Godly deeds, thoughts, and speech.
