@GOVERNOR_AHMED, @BUKOLASARAKI, @KWARAAPC SET CAMPAIGN ROLLING The All progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday flagged off its campaign in Kwara State with a vow to retain power and win all the other elections in the state. The event, which took place at the Metropolitan Square, Ilorin, was led by the duo of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed and Senator Bukola Saraki. Speaking at the occasion, Senator Saraki reiterated his charge to the campaign team tagged: “Mandate 2015” to deliver the state with a 90 per cent victory in all elections. He reminded the campaign committee that the 2015 elections could be a more arduous task than the previous ones. Saraki, therefore, charged them to embark on house to house campaign in order to secure victory. “You are in the campaign team because you are the best in the party, but you have to do your best this time around to deliver better than 2003, 2007 and 2011. “You have to let the people know that we have been tested and trusted, therefore they need to give their votes to APC. “We don’t want 60-40 or 70-30 per cent, but 90 per cent success, this is your goal,” Saraki said. The senator said that he left PDP not for selfish interest, but for the state’s progress and charged party supporters to go back home and deliver their constituencies to APC. In his address, Ahmed, who described the defection to APC as divine intervention, expressed confidence that the party would win the general elections. “Looking back, you will see that APC programmes were divine, unlike those of the opposition. “The opposition has no cogent reasons to compel our people to vote for PDP or President Jonathan,” Ahmed said. The governor, therefore, enjoined the people to consider his performance record with that of his immediate predecessor in office. The APC Chairman in the state, Mr Ishola Fulani-Balogun, assured that the state would be delivered 100 per cent to APC. He described Ahmed as a performer who had been tested and could be trusted. Fulani-Balogun said that Ahmed had delivered on all his campaign promises and therefore deserved to be re-elected.
