GPS (Grow, Pray, and Study) Monday (Genesis 39:1-6): Joseph is sold into slavery by his brothers, but “the Lord was with him.” How does the knowledge of God’s presence with you at all times and in all places influence your perspective on life? Tuesday (Genesis 39:20-23): Though the Lord is with Joseph, it doesn’t mean he won’t face hard times. How have you seen God at work in your life in the hard times? Wednesday (Matt 18:23-34): Jesus tells the parable of a servant who is forgiven an impossible debt. Are there any situations in your life in which you need to show forgiveness but it seems impossible? Thursday (Matt 18:23-34): After receiving forgiveness, the servant does not show forgiveness to another in a similar situation. How do we often accept God’s forgiveness in Christ, but then refuse to show that same forgiveness to others? Friday (Matt 18:34-35): The servant’s debt is reinstated as punishment until it can be paid , and we are told that God will do likewise. What does this warning tell us about the nature of forgiveness? Saturday (Family Activity): Think of one thing that is weighing on your heart this week. Sit down together for a time of confession, sharing what is weighing on your heart and receiving and offering forgiveness to one another, while remembering that all of our harsh words and actions have consequences. Give thank together for the freedom and forgiveness you have found in Christ. Prayer: God of Grace, we thank you for the forgiveness we have found in Jesus Christ our Lord. Help us to set others (and ourselves) free through living lives of forgiveness and grace, reflecting Christ’s sacrificial love to all we meet. It is in His name we pray, Amen.
