Geelani calls shut down on Jan 6 Srinagar (KNS): Hurriyat calls for complete shutdown in the Sopore town on 6 January 2015 and organizing of a program in the Sopore Jamia Masjid on the completion of 22 years of the Sopore massacre on this day, chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani appealed the international community to investigate this massacre of Sopore and all other like incidents in Kashmir and use your influence in booking the Indian forces involved in the war crimes. In a statement to KNS, while paying rich tributes to the 55 martyrs of Sopore who were killed by the Indian forces on 6 January 1993, Geelani said that the great nations never forget their martyrs and they continue their struggle for which these martyrs have sacrificed their precious lives. Geelani appealed all the conscious people to gather at the Jamia Masjid Sopore after the Zuhar prayers where a program would be held by the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat. Geelani expressed his sympathy with thehundreds of families who lost their loved ones or whose houses and shops were burnt to ashes on this day. He said that all the freedom loving people should attend the 6 January program of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat which will be held in Sopore. (KNS)
