Gen. 15:6 - And he (Abram) believed in (trusted in, relied on, remained steadfast to) the Lord, and He counted it to him as righteousness (right standing with God). Spending time with God keeps you stable, steadfast and calm. God says He will strengthen and harden you to difficulties (Isaiah 41:10). When your faith is fed daily by Gods presence, the devil cant control you, because you dont get easily upset. Being filled with Gods truth makes it easier to live the life God has for you.
