Get ready for some stormy weather coming our way. Heavy rain tonight and strong winds will make for difficult driving conditions across the region. Between 15mm – 20mm of rain is expected to fall in a 6 hour period. Winds through the night and into tomorrow are expected to reach 55 mph inland, with gusts of up to 60 – 70 mph in coastal areas. Drivers should take care on the roads and drive to the condition they come across. Standing water and spray is always a danger in such wet weather, and gusting winds can also be dangerous to the unwary driver.
