Getting ready for the End Of the Weak MC Challenge WORLD FINALS.. Leaving this weekend.. This year its hosted by End of the Weak Uganda in Kampala, Uganda, AFRICA… Mas Law went head to head with Soweto Kinch & Con Sensus in a very tough UK Final to be crowned UK champion 2014 and represent for the UK at this years world finals.. hes gonna be up against national champions from across europe america canada and africa.. were joined by very special guest Amy True Caxton (Who is half Irish/Ugandan)... Il (DJ Snuff) be there.. and the daddy of hip-hop theatre Jonzi D-aggylev is coming in full support.. Kissy K is coming along for the ride.. Were gonna have a great time.. Im looking forward to working with Breakdance Project Uganda on a new dance theatre production next week, hopefully well get to connect with Bouncing Cats.. To quote our EOW UGANDA general BURNEY MC One year later… Last September, we had a group meeting at the World Finals in London. With our Ugandan crew once again unable to attend due to visa issues with the UK, the various global partners gathered in the back of a club to chose the location for the next world finals. With little hesitation we all voted to select Uganda as the host of the next World Finals. The biggest concern was how to raise enough funds to make this a reality. Over the last 11 months dozens of EOW global members have organized monthly planning conference calls... lengthy, and hilarious, Google Hangouts with a MANY different languages... as the various team members juggled personal schedules, babies, job schedules and connectivity issues, and plotted the 2014 World Finals. When we launched this project a few weeks ago almost $25,000 in private funds had already been spent or earmarked to help pull this festival off. Nearly 2 dozen EOW family members from 9 different countries have been planning this festival, but realized we still needed to raise at least another $5,000 to pull of the festival, just to cover the costs of the event space, equipment, studio sessions, workshops and other activities. We are excited to announce that in the final day we have successfully funded the International Hip-Hop Culture Festival! We have reached $5,010 and a few donations are still coming in, and are entirely grateful for all 36 of our backers. The first international guests start arriving in Kampala this week, so the timing is incredible! Our next communication will include updates from Uganda as we are creating everyones various rewards. Over the duration of 10 days we will be hosting live music, Bboy & MC cyphers, seminars, Hip-Hop Theatre productions, painting murals at the National Theatre and all around Kampala, recording an international collaborative LP and doing everything Hip-Hop.
