Global airlines expect to make $1 billion less profit this year, - TopicsExpress

Global airlines expect to make $1 billion less profit this year, denting a U.S.-led recovery, as the Ukraine crisis pushes up the industry’s fuel bills, the International Air Transport Association said on Wednesday. Higher oil prices driven by tensions in Crimea are expected to add $3 billion in unexpected costs in 2014, partially offset by a $2 billion upward revision in cargo revenue. Lets hope the airlines dont decide to increase full charges or other taxes to balance this loss out.
