God bridges the gap once again.... Let me tell ya a Relentless - TopicsExpress

God bridges the gap once again.... Let me tell ya a Relentless story of how Gods perfect plan always works and comes to fruition. Now let me preface it by saying even I wonder why these kids get sick and how in the world can it be possible that a loving God would allow it. I try to fall back on faith and that he does not owe me anything let alone an explanation. What I have seen tho is he always provides for these families and I have seen him working right in front of our faces from day one and if ya blink you might miss it! I will tell you the very first time I saw this happen and then the most recent time. The very first time I saw this and Ive told this story a million times is the day this Relentless Detroit mission was formed in the most profound way, at least to me. Ya see one Sunday I skipped church and threw out a Facebook feeler question asking who would come support a charity powerlifting meet for no money or no glory. At the same time this was happening A life group that I was a part of at Kirby Church was discussing this boy named Austin Valentine diagnosed with grade four Gioblastima Multiforme. There were some loose ties to the church and none with me. Later that day having no idea the life group was trying to figure out how to help this family, I text the leader of the group Matt Crawford and told him I wanted to move forward with a charity powerlifting meet that he and I had previously discussed about 4 months prior. Matt was speechless and when he told me that he and the group were just hours ago trying to find a way to help this family I became speechless. God was working that Sunday and although this whole thing with Austin we could not understand, he provided a way to make the road easier for the family. Thats the first time but not the last, its happened time and time again, Scott Nutter can tell you similar stories Im sure. The reason I post this is because it just happened again and I almost missed it. About two weeks ago, I introduced Sydney as a new Relentless kid. This family is by all definitions Relentless and I noticed long ago. Well I approached Jennifer her mother and told her we were gonna help them this year and she was happy and glad to accept the help. About a day later I got an inbox message from Jennifer saying that it was so late in the process that she didnt want to take anything away from the families that have been involved for the last 4 months and asked to be considered for 2015. I was confused but thought this was extremely honorable and commendable. God knew exactly what time it was and I believe put that on her heart. Now before anyone freaks out thinking I believe Sydney is undeserving please read above, I and the board accepted them as a family In Jennifers own words to me she says Sydney is happy and smiling 24/7 (and she is), and explains as long as they can keep Sydneys seizures under control they have a challenging road but manageable one ahead of them. She told me how she took a leave from work but that was her choice and when she goes to Childrens she sees so many kids who are not smiling and mothers and fathers who have taken leaves from work but not by choice but to deal with sometimes very serious life threatening illness that needs addressed immediately. You see what Jennifer chose to do out of selflessness has cleared the way to help a family in desperate need right now. This was a plan orchestrated by God no question and many of you may have missed it but Im here to remind you, he is all over Relentless Please thank Jennifer and welcome Braden and his family to Relentless as a 2014 family. God Bless and keep those eyes open cause it aint over!!
