God has a reason for allowing things to happen. We may never - TopicsExpress

God has a reason for allowing things to happen. We may never understand his wisdom, but we simply have to trust his will. Today is day 98 and we have transitioned from waiting for surgery to preparing for surgery. Mackenzie had another blood transfusion yesterday and today she had another picc line placed. This line will provide space for the reintroduction of the medications for her pulmonary hypertension. The good thing is that the line was placed bedside and she avoided another trip to radiology, bad news is the location of the line requires that her left arm be kept straight so she will now wear a restraint brace which they so candidly call a welcome sleeve. As long as she needs meds she will have her arm restrained. We have only one more day to look at Mackenzie and see a smile on her face, wearing clothes and breathing on her own before that all changes. The anxiety has turned to fear and the reality of the unforeseen complications and torture she will endure have begun to show already. I cant believe that this is really happening. That every medication and every machine will be back in our lives. We will relive the same nightmares and even live through some new ones. It is heartbreaking to have to to think of leaving her side after signing consent forms and being told that its always a concern with surgery that she may not survive. Our little girl is the strongest person I have ever met. To say that we are praying our hearts out is an understatement, at this point we are begging God to help Mackenzie get through this. Please continue to pray with us.
