Gold medalists to be starters at London Marathon, by Alfons Juck, EME News LONDON (GBR): Three of Britain’s 2012 Olympic medalists will be the official starters of the 2014 London Marathon on Sunday April 13, inform race organizers. Rowers Katherine Grainger and Anna Watkins will push the famous red button at the ‘blue start’ on Shooters Hill to send some 36,000 runners and wheelchair racers on their way before they tackle the 26.2 mile route themselves.
